HOME DIAMONDS
Rookies: Brantwood Park Diamonds #1 and #2 DIAMOND LOCATION (see map as well): Brantwood Park: Located at the eastern end of Clegg Street, off Main Street in Ottawa East. There is parking along Clegg Street and also in the small lot adjacent to the diamonds. Diamond #1 is the southernmost diamond close to the park pavilion building. Diamond # 2 is the northernmost one, closest to Clegg Street. There is generally, but not always, a “porta-potty” in the vicinity. Lansdowne Park: Located at the corner of Holmwood Avenue and O’Connor Street. Note that these sections of Holmwood and O’Connor are one-way. Enter Holmwood from Bank Street (Pizza Pizza on the north side and the Lansdowne Park/Civic Centre complex on the south side). Park anywhere (where allowed) along Holmwood or O’Connor. Note that parking within 9 metres of the intersection is illegal, and that there is a hard-to-notice fire hydrant on O’Connor, near Holmwood. Diamond # 1 is the one closest to the Holmwood/O’Connor “intersection” (elbow, really). Diamond #2 is the one closest to the canal. Washroom facilities are in the small pavilion between Diamond #1 and #2. Brewer Park: Located in the southwestern corner of the general Brewer Park sports complex, east of Bronson Avenue and north of Sunnyside Avenue. Enter the area from either Bronson Avenue, opposite the northernmost part of the Carleton University (on the west side of Bronson) or from Sunnyside Avenue. In general, wend your way through the parking lots and connecting laneways by staying as close to Bronson Avenue as possible. Diamonds #1 and #2 are the adult softball diamonds closest to Bronson. Our diamond is #3, located immediately to the east of those two diamonds. There is a parking lot at the southern extremity. There is also generally, but not always, a “porta-potty” in the vicinity. NOTE: At all diamonds, the Home team takes the third base bench/dugout. |
